We are committed to protecting your privacy and safeguarding your personal, medical, and payment-related information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your data when you use the Beauterna application and related services (the “App”).

By creating an account or using Beauterna, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Account Registration and Onboarding Information

To create and use a Beauterna account, users are required to complete a structured onboarding process designed to ensure identity verification and medical safety.

During signup and profile completion, we collect the following required information:

1.1 Contact and Identity Information

- Email address or phone number (one is required at signup)
- One-time password (OTP) verification
- Full name, Gender, and Date of birth
- Profile photo
- Phone number (if signup was via email) or Email address (if signup was via phone)

Purpose: This information is required to verify user identity, enable secure communication, and comply with medical consultation requirements.

2. Health, Medical Information, and Medical History (Mandatory)

As part of account completion and before accessing any medical or aesthetic consultation services, Beauterna requires users to provide medical history information to ensure patient safety.

This mandatory medical information may include:
- Existing or past medical conditions
- Previous procedures or treatments
- Current or past medications
- Known allergies or adverse reactions
- Lifestyle indicators relevant to care (e.g., smoking status)
- Blood group (if provided)
- Uploaded prescriptions or medical documents
Consultation notes and treatment records generated during use of the App Usage: Medical data is required to access consultation features, is visible only to you and your selected doctor, and is never used for advertising, marketing, or profiling.

3. App Permissions and Their Purpose

Beauterna requests permissions only when necessary for specific features.

Camera
Used to Upload or capture prescriptions and profile photos

Microphone
Used strictly to enable live video and audio communication between you and your healthcare provider during scheduled consultations. We do not record or store your live audio or video streams on our servers.

Media / Gallery
Used to select or upload medical images or prescriptions. Beauterna only gains temporary access to the file you select.

Location Information
Used only to display nearby clinics and doctors.

4. How We Use Your Information

Beauterna uses collected information strictly to:
- Create and manage user accounts and verify identity via OTP.
- Enable medical and aesthetic consultations and maintain treatment records
- Facilitate video consultations and document uploads.
- Display nearby clinics based on location and process payments.
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

5. Payments and Transactions

Beauterna uses third-party payment processors, including PayPal, to process payments. We do not collect, store, or process credit card details; all sensitive payment information is handled directly by PayPal.

6. Third-Party Service Providers and Data Sharing

Beauterna does not sell, rent, or trade user data. We integrate with trusted third-party service providers to ensure app security and functionality:
- Google Firebase: Used for secure user authentication and app performance analytics.
- Stream: Used to provide our secure 1:1 chat and telehealth video consultation features.
- Data Sharing: Information is shared only with verified clinics or doctors you explicitly select, or when required by law.

7. Data Security and Encryption

We apply appropriate technical safeguards to protect user data, including medical history, against unauthorized access. This includes encryption of all user data in transit. While strong measures are in place, no digital system can guarantee absolute security.

8. User Rights and Account Deletion

Users can view and update their medical history and profile information at any time.
Account Deletion: You may request the deletion of your account and all associated personal and medical information at any time. To do so, you can use the 'Delete Account' button within the App's profile settings. Alternatively, you may submit a request through our Contact Us page with the subject line 'Account Deletion' or email us directly at info@beauterna.com. We will process your request within 48 hours.

9. Data Retention

Personal and medical data are retained only as long as necessary to provide services, maintain treatment history, and comply with medical, legal, and regulatory obligations.

10. Children’s Privacy

Beauterna is intended for individuals 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors without proper authorization.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of Beauterna constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
